silverwindandGitHub e77d3bffae perf(frontend): enable vite module preload (#39332)
`modulePreload: false` came in with the webpack to vite migration, when
chunks were cache-busted through import maps. With content-hashed chunks
that reason is gone. Vite's default makes every lazy import preload its
whole static dependency tree in parallel instead of the browser
discovering it one level per round trip, which renders lazy features like
mermaid, the code editor and the activity charts noticeably faster on
real-world latency without changing chunks or requests.

silverwindandGitHub c6836d0abb refactor: migrate remaining Vue components to <script setup> (#38752)
Migrates the last four Options API components, so all 20 `.vue` files
now use `<script setup>`, and disables the Vue Options API runtime. This
will enable optimizations like Vue Vapor mode in the future.

Bug fixes done while migrating and testing:

- Branch selector: arrowing onto "Create branch …" threw a `TypeError`,
and Enter on it did nothing
- Dashboard: the search term was not escaped, so `&` injected query
parameters and `#` truncated the request
- Dashboard: an unknown `repo-search-filter` threw, and names like
`constructor` leaked `Object.prototype` members into the request
- Dashboard: an unknown archived/private filter rendered `function
Object() { [native code] }` as a checkbox tooltip
- Dashboard: removed a dropdown init that always ran against a
not-yet-rendered element
- Branch selector: the `document.body` click listener was never removed
on unmount
- Contributors: the chart plugin relied on an undeclared chart.js field
- Contributors: `contributorsStats` was mutated behind a `shallowRef`,
so future readers would not update
- Removed template attributes and pageData keys that no component had
read for years

13d0f24423 feat: Replace SSE with WebSocket for UI notifications (#36965)
* Closes #36942
* Fixes #19265

Replaces the SSE-based push channel (`/user/events`) with a WebSocket
endpoint (`/-/ws`).

### What changes

- **New `/-/ws` endpoint** (authenticated). One WebSocket per origin,
shared across tabs via a single `SharedWorker`.
- **Pubsub broker** (`services/pubsub`) for fan-out by topic, behind a
`Broker` interface. `MemoryBroker` is the default (single process); a
Redis backend is available for multi-process setups, configured via
`[websocket].PUBSUB_TYPE` / `PUBSUB_CONN_STR`. The internal Gitea queue
was not usable here because it has FIFO/single-consumer semantics.
- **Push-only event production.** Events are emitted by write-triggered
notifiers — `NotificationCountChange`, `PublishStopwatchesForUser`, and
the logout publisher — wired into the existing `notify.Notifier`
interface. No server-side pollers.
- **Typed pub/sub on the client.** `web_src/js/modules/worker.ts` is a
singleton transport; features subscribe per event type via
`onUserEvent('notification-count', cb)` instead of branching on
`event.data.type`.
- **Wire contract** (`UserEventType` union) is shared between the worker
and consumers via `web_src/js/types.ts`, kept in sync with
`services/websocket/events.go`.
- **Client-side periodic polling fallback** kicks in only when the
WebSocket cannot be established (e.g. proxy blocks WS, browser lacks
module-SharedWorker support).

### What's removed

- `modules/eventsource` (SSE manager, run loop, messenger).
- `/user/events` route and `tests/integration/eventsource_test.go`.
- All server-side polling for stopwatches and notification counts.

### Stopwatch multi-tab fix

The navbar stopwatch icon was previously rendered conditionally on `{{if
$activeStopwatch}}`, so tabs loaded before the timer started had no DOM
element to update. The icon and popup are now always rendered (toggled
with `tw-hidden`), and the start/stop/cancel handlers POST silently so
all open tabs reflect the change in real time.

### Deployment note

WebSocket needs the upgrade headers to pass through a reverse proxy,
e.g. for nginx:

```nginx
proxy_set_header Upgrade $http_upgrade;
proxy_set_header Connection "upgrade";
```

Without them the WebSocket cannot be established, and after 3
consecutive failed opens the shared worker signals `push-unavailable`:
the notification count and stopwatch fall back to periodic polling on
the existing `[ui.notification]` timeouts. Real-time push is lost, the
features keep working. The reverse-proxy docs need the same note (see
the `docs-update-needed` label).

804b9bf120 chore: upgrade eslint plugins, remove eslint-plugin-github (#38046)
- Bump `eslint`, `typescript-eslint` and `eslint-plugin-unicorn` (to
v68), and configure the rules added in unicorn v66/v67/v68.
- Remove `eslint-plugin-github` and its workarounds (rules, type stub,
pnpm peer override, in-code `eslint-disable` comments); the rules worth
keeping are covered by `unicorn` equivalents.
- Apply the resulting fixes and autofixes across the JS codebase.

_Prepared with Claude (Opus 4.8)._

52fef74291 fix(frontend): resolve Vite assets by manifest source path (#37836)
In dev mode `/api/swagger` returned HTTP 500 (`Failed to locate local
path for managed asset URI: css/swagger.css`): the backend synthesised
asset keys from the Vite entry name instead of reading the manifest,
which only worked by coincidence and broke once a source file name
diverged from its entry name.

This keys the manifest by its source path (e.g. `web_src/js/index.ts`)
and resolves entries directly — hashed `file` in prod, dev-server source
in dev. A new `AssetCSSLinks` helper renders a JS entry's stylesheet
`<link>` tags from the manifest (the entry's CSS plus the CSS of its
statically-imported chunks).

c489db447d Fail vite build on rolldown warnings via NODE_ENV=test (#37270)
Fail the vite build on any rolldown warnings when `NODE_ENV=test` is
set. This gate is set on the CI `make frontend` steps (compliance and
e2e workflows) and on the local `make test-e2e` target, so warnings fail
the build both in CI and when running e2e tests locally. Regular `make
frontend` / production builds are unaffected.

Example output:

```
[plugin test-warning-injector] first synthetic warning
[plugin test-warning-injector] second synthetic warning
transforming...✗ Build failed in 14ms
error during build:
Build failed with 1 error:
[plugin fail-on-warnings]
Error: 2 warnings present
    at PluginContextImpl.buildEnd (vite.config.ts:50:13)
    ...
```

d5831b9385 Frontend iframe renderer framework: 3D models, OpenAPI (#37233)
Introduces a frontend external-render framework that runs renderer
plugins inside an `iframe` (loaded via `srcdoc` to keep the CSP
`sandbox` directive working without origin-related console noise), and
migrates the 3D viewer and OpenAPI/Swagger renderers onto it. PDF and
asciicast paths are refactored to share the same `data-render-name`
mechanism.

Adds e2e coverage for 3D, PDF, asciicast and OpenAPI render paths, plus
a regression for the `RefTypeNameSubURL` double-escape on non-ASCII
branch names.

04fb6f1c0b Replace rollup-plugin-license with rolldown-license-plugin (#37130)
Replace `rollup-plugin-license` and `wrap-ansi` with
[`rolldown-license-plugin`](https://github.com/silverwind/rolldown-license-plugin),
a zero-dependency plugin with async parallel I/O and built-in word
wrapping.

- Removes `rollup-plugin-license` (pulls in `lodash`, `moment`) and
`wrap-ansi` from the dependency tree
- License build time reduced by ~40% (370ms vs 640ms)
- Added e2e test for `licenses.txt`

wxiaoguangandGitHub f9f9876f2c Clean up AppURL, remove legacy origin-url webcomponent (#37090)
1. `origin-url` was introduced in the past when there was no good
framework support to detect current host url
    * It is not needed anymore
    * Removing it makes the code clearer
2. Separate template helper functions for different templates (web
page/mail)
3. The "AppURL" info is removed from admin config page: it doesn't
really help.
    * We already have various app url checks at many places

612ce46cda Fix theme discovery and Vite dev server in dev mode (#37033)
1. In dev mode, discover themes from source files in
`web_src/css/themes/` instead of AssetFS. In prod, use AssetFS only.
Extract shared `collectThemeFiles` helper to deduplicate theme file
handling.
2. Implement `fs.ReadDirFS` on `LayeredFS` to support theme file
discovery.
3. `IsViteDevMode` now performs an HTTP health check against the vite
dev server instead of only checking the port file exists. Result is
cached with a 1-second TTL.
4. Refactor theme caching from mutex to atomic pointer with time-based
invalidation, allowing themes to refresh when vite dev mode state
changes.
5. Move `ViteDevMiddleware` into `ProtocolMiddlewares` so it applies to
both install and web routes.
6. Show a `ViteDevMode` label in the page footer when vite dev server is
active.
7. Add `/__vite_dev_server_check` endpoint to vite dev server for the
health check.
8. Ensure `.vite` directory exists before writing the dev-port file.
9. Minor CSS fixes: footer gap, navbar mobile alignment.

0ec66b5380 Migrate from webpack to vite (#37002)
Replace webpack with Vite 8 as the frontend bundler. Frontend build is
around 3-4 times faster than before. Will work on all platforms
including riscv64 (via wasm).

`iife.js` is a classic render-blocking script in `<head>` (handles web
components/early DOM setup). `index.js` is loaded as a `type="module"`
script in the footer. All other JS chunks are also module scripts
(supported in all browsers since 2018).

Entry filenames are content-hashed (e.g. `index.C6Z2MRVQ.js`) and
resolved at runtime via the Vite manifest, eliminating the `?v=` cache
busting (which was unreliable in some scenarios like vscode dev build).
